Privacy Policy
How our website and our apps handle your information.
Effective September 24, 2026
- No accounts, analytics, advertising or tracking — on this website or in our apps.
- Your app data stays with you, on your devices, or in your own iCloud account if you turn that on.
- We never sell or share your information. If you email us, we use your message only to reply.
This policy covers glowballtechnologies.com and the apps published by Glowball Technologies (“we”, “us”).
This website
Cookies and tracking
The site doesn’t set cookies and doesn’t use analytics, advertising or tracking tools of any kind.
Hosting
The site is hosted on Amazon Web Services. Like any web server, it processes technical information such as your IP address and browser type in order to deliver pages to you. We don’t keep visitor logs.
Fonts
Pages load the Exo 2 typeface from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google’s servers, which receive your IP address. Google’s use of that information is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.
Contacting us
The contact form doesn’t send anything to a server. It opens a pre-filled email in your own mail app, and nothing leaves your device until you send it yourself.
When you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to reply, and we don’t add you to mailing lists or share it with anyone. Our email is hosted by Microsoft 365.
FocusTimer
FocusTimer has no account, no analytics and no data collection. It doesn’t send your data to us or to anyone else.
What stays on your Mac
- Your sessions, stats, history, tags, timer sets and settings are stored on your Mac.
- Backups are written automatically to your Mac, and to a folder you choose if you set one.
- The detailed activity log records data activity (sessions, backups and settings changes) to help diagnose problems. It stays on your Mac, is limited to 5 MB, is never synced, and can be turned off in Settings › General.
- Exports (CSV or JSON) are created only when you ask for one, and saved wherever you choose.
iCloud (optional, off by default)
If you turn on FocusTimer’s iCloud features, your settings are stored in your iCloud account so they stay in sync across your Macs, and your backups can be copied to your iCloud Drive. This data is stored by Apple under your Apple Account and is covered by Apple’s privacy policy. We can’t see it.
Permissions
FocusTimer asks macOS for a permission only when you use a feature that needs it:
- Notifications — to show a banner when a session or break ends. It asks only when you choose Enable Notifications.
- Browser control — to block the websites you’ve listed during a focus session, in Safari, Chrome, Edge, Brave, Vivaldi and Opera. A blocked tab is sent to the focus page. Your browsing isn’t recorded or sent anywhere.
- Shortcuts — to turn Do Not Disturb on and off with your focus sessions, if you enable that option.
Crash reports
If you’ve chosen to share analytics with app developers (System Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements), Apple may share anonymous crash reports and usage statistics with us. We use them only to fix problems.
Future apps
When we release a new app, we’ll add a section here describing how it handles data before it becomes available.
Children
Our website and apps aren’t directed at children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Your choices
Because we don’t collect personal data, there’s generally nothing for us to access, correct or delete. If you’ve emailed us and would like your messages deleted, just ask.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the effective date at the top.
